Types of assistance
The NNTT is able to help people involved in the native title process by providing information and assistance.
Some types of assistance are regulated by legislation.
For any type of assistance, simply contact the NNTT and we will point you in the right direction.
The types of assistance the NNTT may provide include:
- ILUA negotiations
- negotiating the withdrawal of objections to the registration of an ILUA
- assistance to representative bodies in performing dispute resolution functions
- assistance to native title holders and Registered Native Title Bodies Corporate
- assistance in negotiating statutory access agreements or mediation of statutory access
- training, statistics and presentations.
The types of assistance the Registrar may provide include:
- information on native title and the native title process
- assistance in the preparation of native title determination applications and applications to register ILUAs
- details of native title applications and ILUAs available on the NNTT Registers and databases
- mapping services
- land tenure information and searches of NNTT Registers and databases.
The NNTT cannot provide legal advice or financial assistance, or prepare applications for applicants.
