Reflecting on the broader opportunities created by native title

publications

The relevance of native title to land use and the development of employment and training were just some of the topical themes raised recently in a speech made by the Tribunal's President Graeme Neate.

The paper Looking in a mirror dimly: Native title and broader Indigenous policy was presented at a meeting of the National Indigenous Council (NIC) in Canberra in February 2006.

The purpose of the presentation was to outline the current native title environment and to encourage the NIC to consider, when providing advice on Indigenous policy and service delivery, the opportunities which can arise from native title.
