Maps

To help visualise native title matters, the Tribunal produces a series of maps, normally on a quarterly basis, showing:

  • the geographic extent of applications in the Register of Native Title Claims and the schedule (any active matters before the Federal Court)
  • registered and notified indigenous land use agreements, and
  • determinations from the National Native Title Register.
Statistics are included with these maps.

We provide separate maps and statistics for:
  • native title matters involving 'sea', and
  • representative Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander body (RATSIB) areas and the recognised body.
Explanatory notes are included with a thumbprint image of the maps. The maps can be downloaded in either JPEG or PDF formats. A guide on how to download and use the PDF maps is provided below. Previous versions of maps can be requested and will be available online in the future.
