Spatial data provided online by the Tribunal
The National Native Title Tribunal has joined with two Australian Government
agencies to deliver its spatial data online.
Industry specialists can now visit
Geoscience Australia's website to view and download the Tribunal's
custodial native title spatial datasets.
This improved service is in accordance with the government's spatial data
pricing and access policy and is an example of the type of cooperative
distribution model being applied by government.
Four themes of native title spatial data are available nationally. These being
boundaries of native title claimant applications as per the Register of Native
Title Claims, the Schedule of Applications (Federal Court), Determinations of
Native Title and Indigenous Land Use Agreements (on the Register or in
notification).
The data is currently updated on the website monthly in GIS formats MapInfo,
ESRI and KML (Google Earth). Users seeking more regular updates are able to
subscribe directly to the Tribunal for this service.
