The documents available for viewing or downloading on this web site are intended to assist all stakeholders to develop their own agreements to meet their specific needs and circumstances.Please note that certain documents have been edited at the request of the parties to remove certain business or confidential information, and are only available on this web site in edited form. Other documents have been provided to the Tribunal in confidence, and cannot be accessed through this web site. The Tribunal aims to provide its stakeholders with as much practical information as possible to assist native title groups and stakeholders in agreement making and negotiations. The Tribunal's research section has produced a series of booklets covering content ideas for agreements between native title parties and local governments, miners and pastoralists. Rather than an exhaustive source of information on particular agreements, or what agreements should include, the booklets provide guidance on the important issues parties should canvass during negotiations. Your agreement can serve as a guide or model for others involved in the native title negotiations and the agreement-making process. If you have an agreement or protocol that is not listed in this collection, and which you think might be of use to others engaged in the same process, please contact our Legal Services section on freecall 1800 640 501 to arrange to provide the Tribunal with a copy of your agreement. In making agreements and protocols publicly available on this web site, the Tribunal works with all persons to ensure, that as far as possible, any issues relating to commercial confidence, privacy, and cultural and customary sensitivities are fully respected. The Tribunal also supports the Agreements, Treaties & Negotiated Settlements (ATNS) database. The database is part of a larger Australia Research Council Linkage Project that aims to look at the types of social, cultural and legal rights included in past, present and potential agreements, and treaties made with Indigenous Australians.
