Federal Court file numbers for native title determination applications

The file number prefixes now used by the Federal Court are as follows:

In all cases, the prefix is applied in conjunction with a matter number and a year (eg. QUD158/2004).

As the Tribunal's case management system does not currently cater for a 4-digit year, the updated Federal Court file numbers only reflect the last 2 digits of the year (eg. QUD158/2004 in the Federal Court's system will be reflected as QUD158/04 in the Tribunal's system). The Tribunal will be updating its system later this year to cater for the 4-digit year.
