Full-time member

Dr Gaye Sculthorpe is a full-time member of the National Native Title Tribunal based in Melbourne. She was appointed to the Tribunal in February 2000 as a part-time member and was appointed as full-time in February 2004.

Until September 2003, Dr Sculthorpe worked at Museum Victoria where she was Head of the Department of Indigenous Cultures. Dr Sculthorpe is a Member of the Australian Heritage Council and a Council Member of LaTrobe University. She is also currently a member of the National Alternative Dispute Resolution Advisory Council.

Dr Sculthorpe studied anthropology and history at the Australian National University and holds a PhD from LaTrobe University in Melbourne. She is a descendant of the Pyemmairrener people of north-east Tasmania.
