Part-time member

Mr Neville MacPherson is a part-time member of the National Native Title Tribunal based in Melbourne. He was first appointed to the Tribunal in September 2003 as a full-time member, and re-appointed as a part-time member in September 2006.

Mr MacPherson was a Director and General Counsel of Shell Australia Ltd. He retired from Shell at the end of 2002 after more than 20 years service in Australia and the UK .

Mr MacPherson graduated in Law from the University of Queensland in 1969. He practised as a partner in a Brisbane law firm until joining MIM Holdings Ltd in the mid 1970s and embarking on a career as a corporate solicitor, specialising in resources law. In this latter capacity, he has been associated with Aboriginal land rights and native title matters since 1974.

He has, over many years, been a member of various professional and industry bodies and committees.
