NNTT’s delivery of services during the COVID-19 event

Further to the update posted Monday, 23 March, and increasing developments in the COVID-19 situation, our Members and staff will be working remotely to deliver our services to you. We are taking this step to ensure we are doing everything we can to protect the safety and wellbeing of our staff, NNTT clients and the community.

What’s happening with future act hearings and listings

Future act hearings, conference lists and mediations will continue to be held. Details of upcoming listings can be checked at http://www.nntt.gov.au/futureacts/Pages/Hearings-list.aspx. These matters are routinely convened by teleconference, and our response to COVID-19 means that ALL matters will be dealt with in this manner. Any parties or representatives involved with future act hearings will be contacted prior to a hearing to confirm attendance by ph​one.

Future act inquiries in Western Australia

As part of its response to the COVID-19 situation, the Tribunal has issued an interim direction applying to all future act inquiries in Western Australia, including expedited procedure objections.

The interim direction has now been revoked, with effect from 1 July 2020. From this date, if a party is unable to comply with a Tribunal direction due to measures associated with COVID-19, or for any other reason, they may apply to the Tribunal for an extension of time.

Geospatial Search Requests – We will continue to service search requests however please note that our standard timeframes maybe extended. It is also possible to search for details of native title determination applications, future act applications, as well as details of matters currently in notification. ​​​​

  • Your State or Territory workplace health and safety body – who can also assist with workers compensation enquiries.
