The National Native Title Tribunal invites native title applicants and their representatives to attend free workshops in Cairns and Brisbane next month on Native Title Corporations.
The workshops will focus on the practical issues involved in developing corporate structures to manage native title. A new guidebook on the design of native title corporations will be published to coincide with the workshops.
Tribunal President Mr Graeme Neate said the establishment of effective and culturally appropriate corporate bodies was essential to the native title process.
"When native title is finally determined, it must be held and managed by a native title corporation. The design and set up of appropriate organisations is crucial," said Mr Neate.
