The key focus in South Australia is on resolution of native title claims by either a consent determination (eight are currently scheduled to be finalised between now and the end of 2009) or by the negotiation of a series of sectoral indigenous land use agreements (ILUAs). The ILUAs deliver benefit packages to native title holders and result in claims being withdrawn.
Significantly, South Australia aims to resolve 75 per cent of native title claims by 2014. It regards native title resolution as being closely linked to the delivery of Indigenous outcomes within the broader delivery of services and social and economic outcomes for Indigenous South Australians.
