The Tribunal makes determinations and decisions in relation to whether future acts can proceed on land and waters where native title may exist. There are two types of future act determination - in regard to an Expedited Procedure Objection Application or a Future Act Determination Application.
When all parties involved in the application reach an agreement about the proposed future act, the Tribunal makes a consent determination.
The Tribunal allocates a future act citation number (NNTTA) to each determination. The determinations are then published to this site and to the Australasian Legal Information Institute (AUSTLII).
