Native title claimant applications: a guide to understanding the requirements of the registration test April 2008
A guide for Indigenous Australians who want information on the registration test. The registration test is a set of conditions applied to an application for a native title claim. Further clarification about the factual basis claim groups need to provide in support of their claim for native title rights and interests at Schedule F of an application is contained in the Full Federal Court’s decision in Gudjala People # 2 v Native Title Registrar [2008] FCAFC 157. This guide should be read in conjunction with the court’s decision. A summary of the decision can be found in Issue 28 of Native Title Hot Spots.
